Women & Health Care

The Health Care in the US is going through changes. I believe we all agree that change in this system is greatly needed. It should have been changed years ago but at least changes are taking place. Better late than never I guess.
There are countless people who desperately need insurance coverage for any number of issues and cannot afford to obtain this necessary addition to their lives. I cannot imagine how parents with children can even begin to take care of the necessities of life, which cost more and more each year, and not be able to pay for medical coverage. What does a family do if one of their children comes down with the Swine Flu and has to be hospitalized? Or even to get a vaccine for their children to prevent a hospital stay? Sure Flu shots are $25.00 at drugstore near me but what if you do not have the extra money to pay for these shots? Well you rob Peter to pay Paul as I would do.

Surely a crisis exists in this industry when some Insurance Companies will not cover a women who is expecting a child. They call it a pre-existing condition. What? How many men do you know that can have a baby? There are others who will not cover a woman who is, or has been in an abusive relationship. This woman in particular is in need of medical coverage, Again this is termed a pre-existing condition. The cost of abuse in this country is in the billions of dollars a year. Some cancer patients cannot be insured due to their misfortune of having this disease. Choices have to be made by women to take care of their medical needs or pay their monthly bills. This should not be a concern for anyone who is going through such a trying time in their lives. They should be able to get the care and coverage they need and not have to worry about not having a place to live. This is discrimination against women.
Today I received an e-mail from the White House about this Health Care Crisis. It contained a video from You Tube. I urge you to take a couple minutes and watch it. There are people working on this serious issue and Our First Lady Michelle Obama is one of them. I urge all of you to get involved in this Health Care issue as one day it could be a loved one of yours who ends up in this situation. Can you afford to pay their bills or medical coverage? Can you take care of them when no one else will? Will you loose your home and all your belongings to save a loved ones life?
There are millions of blogs and newspaper articles on line that make it very convenient to get involved in this issue. it doesn't take a lot of your time to leave an opinion or forward an article to your state representatives. Involvement of many is absolutely necessary to change the Health Care situation in this country. Get involved now before it is too late.

Yes, the healthcare "system" is broken. But the solution is not government taking it over completely. The reason it is broken is that government has already distorted the market with its existing involvement.
The solution is to PREVENT companies from offering health insurance as a "benefit". That means that insurance companies would not be subsidized by "human resources" pointy-haired doofuses who could care less about costs to employee/patients.
You will see a drastic decrease in costs with an "a la carte" system where each person buys, or doesn't buy, his own insurance.
BTW, no one lives forever. There is no benefit to a dying person, or to society, for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to prolong the lives of people on their way out.
I repeat, no one lives forever. Deal with it.
BTW2, another problem is that the U.S. is becoming a third world-country due to unlimited population increase by illiterates with no skills (and seemingly limited intelligence). You don't get first world amenities (e.g., superb healthcare) in a third-world nation.
