Another Abuse Story
50In the New York Post newspaper today,
the lead story was about domestic abuse. It seems there is a trial going on between a husband and wife to determine whether or not he was abusive towards her. This couple has been together for many years and have two children. The police have been called to their home on a few occasions for domestic complaints.
In October of 2008, the wife had made a complaint to the local police and stated that her husband had called her, “dumb,” “stupid” and “retarded.” This is verbal abuse. In a 911 call from the same day in question there is a tape which states, “he hit her.” This is physical abuse. The husband has been charged with third degree assault. This is a misdemeanor crime.
Other compliants against this TV anchor man are causing his wife, "a swollen bottom lip, grabbing her around her throat, causing scratches and minor bleeding behind her left ear." He also repeatedly punched her in the upper right arm, and "kicked her in her lower right shin casuing a small cut and minor bleeding."

When an individual signs a complaint against someone else it is done so as a legal instrument that you are telling the truth. Pretty much like swearing under oath that you are being truthful. It carries consequences for lying.
The day of the trial, this woman told a “radically different story” about how she was injured. The abusive finger is being pointed a someone else. She is saying her husband wasn’t even present when she was injured in Oct. 2008.

I agree that any abuse is a crime. Abuse affects people in such negative ways and ruins lives.
